He has the logo that he just registered within 30 days and has zero feedback. He says he's just now starting to make a side business on eBay and which is why he has 0 feedback. Would you still buy from him?

I suppose it depends what it is and how much it costs. In other words, is it an amount that you can "let go" if needed? Also, those with zero feedback need to start somewhere. All we can hope is the guy is honest and comes through. My fingers are crossed for you if you decide to pull the trigger!

If he doesn't have feedback even as a buyer, no way. I've bought from people selling for the first time, but only if they had a record as a buyer.

Every Seller on ebay started with zero feedback.
The man said it, everyone started at zero. I have been an ebay buyer since 2006, I have done 5 transactions. Its not hard to imagine in this economy someone wanting to pick up some extra cash selling some items on ebay. I believe your protected by Paypal but I could be wrong. And as stated above I think alot depends on amount. Just my opinion!!

I am much more likely to do a transaction with someone with 1 feedback than zero. The guys that rip people off are typically guys that just set up an account (zero feedback).
As people above said... if you are gonna buy from a zero feedbacker... make sure it's a low dollar item.
As others have said, depends on the amount. Bought an item a couple of weeks ago from a zero-feedback seller who had multiples listed for a very good BIN price. Looked like a classic scam setup, but the price was too good to pass up and I could afford to lose the money in the event that the EBay buyer protection plan (coverage is no longer provided by Paypal) didn't cover it. Received the item in good order.
Ebay covers you (including the amount paid for shipping) if you don't get your item. Doubt that they'd do anything in the case of a dispute over the condition of a used razor.

My first ebay transaction was me selling a 1965 Chevy Malibu to a man in Alabama while I lived in North Dakota! I sure am glad he trusted me

I went through a Paypal fraud claim once (for the ebay transaction with a zero feedback seller). It is a pita and takes time.
It's nice that you are protected, but it is also something that it is nice to avoid having to go through.
Now... I'm not trying to be a Cassandra... I just want to throw out a word of caution since someone asked. I hope everyone never has problems with ebay purchases, and I do them all the time and most of them are no problem. Just have to be careful.

Ebay can be a crap shoot regardless of feedback.. I have been taken by people with 10000 feedback who decided they wanted to make easy money and not send any products that month.. as other have said if you use Paypal you are protected. It can take up to 2 weeks to get your cash back once you start the process but you will get it back.
The other thing with 0 feedback is that a lot of people are hesitant so you normally will end up getting it for a decent price if you do receive it
