Would like help picking a new notebook

Gents, I'm in grad school and sometimes it's easier to take notes with a pan than it is to try and type it all out. I have been using a mead five-star notebook that is just about full, it works ok, but I'd like something more fountain pen friendly. When I do take notes I usually use a Parker 45 with a refilled cart so I always have plenty of ink.

I prefer to order from Goulet Pens, if I have to go that route, which I'm not at all opposed to (more ink samples for me!), but something I can find at the store is welcome too.

For just school notes, I think the Staples Eco-friendly paper stuff is great. Consistently excellent for me, they also have wire wound. Very fountain pen friendly.

There are many more expensive products, you will get a lot of opinions. Just sayin'!

There are a few inks that don't like the eco friendly stuff but it works. You won't get two sides out of it but who twosides notes?! A lot of the composition glued notebooks at Walmart work too. Both can be found cheap and won't break the bank.

I have a Clairefontain notebook that is amazing paper but I wouldn't use it to take notes on. It costs too much!!! (Testing out inks and nibs is a whole other story when it comes to science ;) )

... with the looseleaf notepaper of my choice got me through university just fine. (Managing your notes collection when studying later becomes easier with looseleaf, too.)

A cast-iron griddle will be better, although a bit heavy. Get one with a built-in grease trap or slight walls at the edge, to keep your pen from rolling off.

You're still in that meeting.....?

Two identical training sessions. We have a vendor in "training the trainers" as it were. It's a project I've headed up, so I'm expected to be at both 3 hour sessions. I only took notes to write with my Estie. I also found an excuse to bring up FPs to gauge interest from the trainers. No takers.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll probably grab a few of those notebooks from Staples next time I'm over that way. I really like to use composition books so I don't loose my notes.

The only problem I've found with using my pan in class is that you really have to take the time to load it up with carbon to have enough for the whole lecture. The best part is that it gives me a 3" italic when I want to be crafty.

You can find that paper at Wal-mart or the drug store or maybe the college book store.
