Wostenholm project

Thanks Bill!
It's been a while since I've done a step by step project online.
I may have to do another one soon.

I get asked all the time how long it takes to make a given set of scales.
It usually takes me anywhere from 10 - 30 hrs. depending on the complexity of the project. Adverage is between 12 and 16.

Cheers!
That would be great if you could document the process. I think it would surprise a lot of folks here about the intense care and patience it takes to saw all that out by hand. I'm sure the boys would come to appreciate the work a lot more. My take on it, anyway.

Oh, don't take this the wrong way, but that blade shouldn't even come close to that dynamite set of scales. You need something better. If you need a good vintage blade, let me know. Give me an idea for a measurement from tip to pivot and I'll send one your way.

Ok, so I don't do the "guess what this thing is" game, really well.
I got to play in the shop a bit today, and this is where I'm at on this project.
The top brass piece got a bit skewed, and will have to be recut, but ya'll get the idea.

enjoy :w00t:

Damn...quite a work of art Sir....quite a work of art!
