Worth upgrading?

I currently only own a Crabtree and Evelyn "small best badger brush" which I've had for about 3 years. Is it worth spending a bit more to get a better brush?
Is one brush enough-would I be better off spending money on new razor etc?

Cheers

In a word, yes.:001_tongu

One brush is certainly enough, but if I were going that route I'd trade up a bit.

After 3 years you deserve an addition to the den. A nice Rooney, Simpson's 2 band, or a Shavemac. Maybe an Omega 627 if budget is an issue.

I own a few brushes but only use one today because it's the best of all my brushes. I have a cheap boar brush for when I travel and I don't nearly like it like my main brush. If I loose the boar, I won't be sad at all. It still works!

I got a backup brush to my main brush but if my main dies, I would probably get another knot or have another one made to the specs that I got.

In conclusion, sure you can go with one brush. If you never tried anything else than that one brush, I would highly recommend going for something different. A different hair, shape, size will impact your lather! I found the perfect brush, in my case, for face lathering.

I have 8 Gillette razors, 6 Merkur razors, a Lux, Fatip and only 13 brushes. Each one gets used on either a daily or monthly basis. Go spoil yourself.

One is more than enough, but after 3 years, why not splurge a bit! Wow, one brush! i respect that! No self-control for me!

For sure you can get by with just one, but its nice to have a choice. As you mover along in this hobby I'm sure you'll want to add a few more. I have a 5 brush rotation myself, and that's down from around 10 or so.

My preferences are for medium size dense brushes. I face lather exclusively. It's amazing what a difference one of my nicer brushes makes in my daily shave routine.
So, a resounding "yes" vote here also!

What brush would that be out of curiosity?

Well, what razor do you have now? C&E BBB isn't a bad brush. If your razor is bottom of the barrel I'd go for
that. If its really nice, a brush upgrade would then make sense.
