What's new

Wolfman Wednesday

My 1.15 in brushed satin arrived today. I had been using the 1.25 almost exclusively since receiving it nearly a year ago (I had a 1.45 for a spell, but found it to be "too much razor" for me). I decided on the 1.15 as I wanted something I could shave with on consecutive days if need be - the 1.25 doesn't leave enough stubble for that.

First shave with the 1.15 today, and, well sir, this is one smooth operator. Got a great, carefree, no issue shave with this baby. Used a Wizzy IS (first shave) and for soap, Mike's Hungarian Lavender.

Hope you and yours are well.

- Razor: Wolfman WR2 1.35SB
- Blade: Astra Czech vintage (4)
- Soap and AS: Noble Otter Rawr

Not a bad shave but I should have binned the NOS Astra after 3 shaves. Good match with the Wolfman though.

I am loving the WR2 and wouldn’t buy another without the DC plate. 2 razors in one… why wouldn’t I? 👍

1.35 IS a touch too aggressive for me but I have been using the SB edge exclusively for daily shaves and the OC side for 48hr+ shaves. That is working great for me. Having said that, if I did it again, I would go 1.25SB/135OC. Looking forward to burning brain cells figuring out my next Wolfman razor in a month or so. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I decided to stick with this soap until it is all used up. There is not much left to the soap, and it should be finished by the end of this week. This is the 101st shave with this tallow version soap. Since this is Wednesday out comes the Wolfman loaded with a fresh Wizamet blade. A fine, BBS shave. Have a great day.

Fumbling about.

The WR2 1.15 is an effective razor. Why?

My old man white whiskers aren't easy and my soul patch is terribly challenging, but, as I become more and more familiar with the razor my abilities with it increase.

My skin is not terrible, but just moderately sensitive, and prone to dryness. (I do not like to have post shave skin which "feels overdone;" that probably is the same thing as saying I don't like even a small amount of razor burn or irritation.) I shave almost every day. I'm big on getting a Damn Comfortable Shave, but I also value a close, long lasting shave.

YMMV

(Then again, it might not.)

I might like an even more efficient razor even more than I like the 1.15, but the WR2 already in my shave den is going to be hard to top.

I wish more people would comment on their skin and whiskers and the frequency of their shaves.

Not badmouthing the great Wolfman Porn in this thread of course.

Happy shaves,

Jim

Guided by their fearless Captain, a Chubby Badger and Wolf made quick haste exiting the den for an epic showdown with a hairy beast. When confronted the stubborn beast turned a side-eye glare toward them and raised its stubble in defiance, drawing the battle line. Using a light Feather touch with almost mythical precision and efficiency, the Wolf’s fangs cut against the beast’s skin. When finished, the Chubby Badger and Wolf left the beast’s skin feeling Baby Bottom Smooth.
