Wolfman Blade Gap Recommendation

Hi All! - I wanted to get a recommendation on the blade gap for a SB wolfman.

The three razors I really love are
1. Above the Tie (ATT) S1 - Closest shave but leaves some weepers
2. ATT SSRH Plate SB - Slightly milder than S1
3. Tatara Nodachi - Mildest out of the 3

I prefer something that is in between #1,#2 and #3.

What blade gap would you recommend?

I had the ATT S1 slant.... I end up selling it, though I'm not sure that was wise... I only got shaves that lasted for 8-10 with the S1. I also had an ATT SSRH Windsor.... For me, it was more efficient than the S1, but you are having different results. I did get 12 hour shaves with the ATT SSRH Windsor, but again, I sold it... I sold all my ATT stuff to a guy here on B&B.

So, the Wolfman.... I only have one and have only tried one, so take this with a pillar of salt. I have the WR2 0.95SB basic polish bronze. It's plenty efficient for me.... 12 hour shaves that are smooth, comfortable yet close... The 0.95 was the original gap when the WR2 was released, if that is a factor for you.

If you are going to buy one, I'd take the time to read all the Wolfman threads here on B&B... There are several of them.... That should give you an idea why people choose the various gaps.....

I wish you well on your Wolfman journey.... Btw, I use mine with one of James' hollow handles... I have two of them... 90mm, 3/7 design, one with H2 knurling, the other with H3 knurling. For me, that tilts the balance a bit towards the razor head. I found, I prefer that and use the hollow with my bronze razors and a Timeless Ti Crown handle with my stainless steel and titanium razor heads.

When you get closer to buying, Tara (James' sister who runs the day to day stuff) will gladly send you photos of the different handles they make, etc. The two of them tend to avoid answering gap questions as it's so individual.

Well one member did Two Different Gapes, one each side of Razor, if I recall was WR-2, 0.95, and 1.05.

Seemed like a bright idea. Not sure they still offer, but nice option.
