Winter Time at Badger & Blade

The Great Outdoors Edition

We here at Badger & Blade appreciate every season and love to hear what our members are up to year round. Winter is upon us and for many members there is no greater season. Here in The Great Outdoors we would love to know what gets you out of the comfort of home during the winter.

Do you ice fish?
Do you alpine ski?
Do you warm up the snow machines and hit the trails?
What game do you hunt during the winter?
Build awesome snowmen with the family?

We want to know it all and we especially want to see those pictures of you out there in the midst of winter!
Post here or start threads
Let's all enjoy Winter Time at Badger & Blade!

Be sure to explore all of B&B as winter has hit almost the whole forum
and there is a lot more to catch up on around town

I love everything about winter, Everything you do takes twice the energy and coming in from the cold just makes you sleep like a baby. I love to ski, go for walks when its weather permitted, if i didnt have to shovel the driveway it would be the perfect season to play outside.... but than im Canadian lol

I do everything I do during the other 9 months, just with a jacket. I hate the snow and thankfully living below sea level in California I don't have to worry about it. I just hunt different game and turn the heater on in the shop. Though, the tule fog we get here is pretty unique, getting 30-40 foot visability is very common. If you can see the end of the block its a light fog day! Somedays you can't even see the sidewalk out the window. But 40*F and 100% humidity is a different kind of cold, it cuts deep, right through sweaters and such.

I wanna be sedated!
The Geckos stay out of the house.

Since moving to Dallas we really don't have much winter. I do miss the snow from living in the Midwest. I don't miss shoveling it.

And it's Hockey season!!

We are in Jersey shore, so everything is closed. But i still go out to Philly and hang out or just do some hiking in Jersey near the Pines.

The weather here in the Oklahoma hills is getting cold.

Furs are getting prime.

It's time to take the hounds out in pursuit of the masked bandits. :)

This is a picture of my oldest boy under the tree with Rosco.

I raised his mother, and he is out of her first litter.

Generations and generations of my family have followed the hound music.

Nice shot! Do you make anything with the furs or just sell them whole?

For winter activities, I enjoy cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, using the fireplace and whipping out some donuts.

coonskinner, I like the pic, got a nice corn fed doe last week (SE MN). Looking forward to all the meat that will be provided.

Can't believe I forgot, sledding! Also, when I was a paratrooper with the 1-501 PIR in AK jumping into fresh powder was amazing.

She was a big one. The field I was hunting had about 10 does. All of them were large. Where I was hunting (SE MN) is full of hills and corn, meaning large deer. We will have large bucks but sometimes their racks don't do them justice. The DNR is doing a great job of keeping track of the population and since I was about 15 we have been allowed to harvest 2 deer or more.

It seems like my favorite winter activity is moving. Last year I moved after Thanksgiving and this year I'll be moving in a couple weeks.

I should probably try to settle down. Ramblin man.

The nice thing with moving in the winter is it is a lot harder to break a sweat. However, when it is really cold then moving is horrible.
