Winter Time At Badger and Blade

Winter Time at Badger and Blade

The Fragrance Edition

full

As the seasons change, so do many of the frags we use around the home, office, and on our favourite nights out. Many choose scents this time of year that remind them of warmer weather, while others to embrace the cold. We would love to hear how your frags may change for the winter, and the busy get together seasons, do you choose heavier warm scents that bring thoughts of hot chocolate and the fireplace ?, or do you keep the citrus summer scents in hope that the cold weather may soon be gone.

Explorer all of B&B as winter has hit almost the whole forum
and there is a lot more to catch up on around town

I wear most of my fragrances all year as I feel like it. But there are a few that are better in cold weather. My fragrances with strong tobacco and/or boozy notes, for example, get more wear in cold weather.

I'll turn to the spicy oriental and woody type scents now.
Things like Burberry London.
For a night out, I'll go with something sweet like Bond no.9 New Haarlem.

What excites me most right now is I came into owning a bottle of Imaginary Authors "Memoirs of a Tresspasser".
It's most likely going to be my daily wear for the winter.

Cooler weather (and just plain COLD weather) make me think of staying in by a warm fire sipping hot cocoa.
I like fragrances that will wrap me in a blanket.

Now It's cold where I am, and I know not everyone has the same winter weather.

Gourmands are nice too for winter I find. Something that is a bit sweet can be nice this time of year.

I usually hate wearing it out as 1 in every 5 guys seem to wear it... but for good reason boss bottled is a great rich scent, my others this time of year are Givenchy play intense, and YSL Le nuit de l'homme both great spicy for this time of year... I used to have A'men as well that tar type scent actually works great in cold winter nights

Wait till you try Cape Heartache! Smells like a Christmas tree, although I've been picking up the Strawberry notes lately.

If you like Burberry London, you will probably like even better Micael Kors for Men.
Oooo! I think I'm getting some of this for Christmas from the LOTH!

Like James, I don't have any scents that I wear exclusively in the winter, but I do reach for some of the heavier scents more often when the temperature drops. Orientals and incense predominant fragrances seem particularly well suited for cold weather. Today, I wore Andy Tauer's Lonestar Memories, which can be overpowering on a hot summer day. Others that the cold has inspired me to reach for include Montale Full Incense, Jacques Fath pour l'Homme, C&S 88, Parfumerie Generale Coze 02, Amouage Tribute Attar and Lalique Encre Noire (which, along with Jacques Fath pour l'Homme I consider to be among the biggest bargains in perfumery.

Cape Heartache is amazing. Excellent for winter, strawberry, incense, smoke and woods.

But to answer the OP question, I switch up everything for fall and more-so for winter. I like sweet, smoky and dry scents such as vetivers and sandalwoods. Tobacco Vanille, Oud Noir, Frapin 1270 are all excellent winter candidates.

My fall/winter seasons scent has been Gucci - Gucci Pour Homme II for a number of years now, with YSL - L'Homme as my spring/summer scent. not gonna lie though, I'm probably gonna go and buy a bottle of Hanae Mori - HiM this weekend. Fell in love with it when i was in LV the other weekend. The women certainly had no qualms over its scent either ;-)

Than you should consider Green Water by JF for the summer. It's a very nice summer type of Eau.

I like Nameless and Heritage in the winter. They should write 'winter' on those bottles.

I usually wear the typical winter scent (gphii, TV, norne, etc,) but do like to throw in a summery one to lighten the mood (Un J en M for example.)

I posted my favorite winter fragrances and left off probably my top two; Creed Windsor and Christian Dior Leather Oud.

I bring out the Knize Ten more often during the winter. I don't have summery scents so nothing really gets pushed to the back.

Clubman with a couple drops of glycerin is my cold weather standard. Always like Clubman and VIBR in the winter.
