williams plus....

noxema

is TERRIFIC!!!

I prep'd with noxema for a pre-shave....and then lathered up Williams and had the best Williams shave ever....

Interesting combination and a terrific lather.

I finished an older can of shaving gel in the last couple of weeks as a pre-shave. It was high in sorbitol, glycerine and aloe vera.
Combined with a hot towel prep it was more than ok.
I rinsed it off before lathering though.

Back when I was a Teenager I had to use that stuff to clean my face before bed and for sunburn. But I never thought about it as a preshave.

I have not tried it with anything else yet.

the issue I have with it is the scent - it's very eucalyptus-y and mentholy (which is good) but it might not combine with a lot of soaps. Williams is such a neutral scent, it seems to mix well.

What I'm getting at is that probably 90% of the shave quality is coming from that Noxema, not the Wiliams....:001_rolle

I think Williams superlathered with peanut butter would be an improvement on Willaims alone...

I use Williams with a small drop of C.O. Bigelow shave cream and it makes a nice super lather with my Tweezerman Badger Brush.

I bought a puck of williams on the last sunday of January and I've been using it basically everyday with either a drop of ingrams, or some of the ice blue velva and it's been lathering really well. I'm down to a half moon sliver of williams in my mug. I've used noxema as a base coat preshave with other soaps and ingrams shave cream and it works great.
