Williams+Astra SP+ Fatip Grande= Horrible shave

I decided to try some Williams Soap again this week while waiting for some MWF from WCS. I love the scent of Williams and had few problems with it before. For some reason this combo felt as if I had a bad blade in my razor. It seemed as though the blade was pitted or something. I originally started my lather right on the puck. It was nice and thick and slick, but hardly any protection. It was a brand new blade, but I thought maybe it was just a bad one. I was going to change it for another, but decided to add some KMF Cool Mint to my bowl first. I re-lathered and that finally did the trick. "Everything was smooth sailing from there on."

In the past I've tried Williams with a 34C and IP blades and didn't have a single problem. Who knew that combo would set one up for disaster.

Do you know of a product that works great with one razor/blade combo and poorly with another?

I know some blades that don't work so good for me no matter what software I use, but I've never noticed a blade that worked for me only with some software.

Astra SP is an excellent Fatip blade for me. I have an extremely coarse beard. Best compo for Fatip is #1 Feather; #2 Israeli Personna; #3 Astra SP / UK Wilki (tie). Horrible blade for me is Polsilver.

I love the Astra Fatip combo. It's awesome with the Palmolive shave stick and many others, but not with Williams.
