will knot fit handle?

Is it feasible to make a 22mm knot fit into a 23mm or 24 mm handle? If so, how ?

Would it look OK, or would the proportions be screwed up? Thanks

It would probably fit a 22mm handle just fine. It depends on how big the knot is a few mm above the plug. If it is a really well packed knot, you would need a 22mm handle for sure and the 24mm handle might work.

No matter what the title says some knot have not exactly that number
TGN for example says that in a 22mm knot "Plug size is 21mm +/- .5mm"
So in a 24mm handle you have a 2.5mm gap
You have to put a lot of epoxy to fill it and maybe from close looks not so good.

Measurements are all "nominal" which is defined as "existing in name only". Measurements vary from supplier to supplier. For example 16mm Whipped Dog knots measure about 16.3mm at the resin plug. The Silvertip measures 22.16 mm at it widest point while the black is 19.3mm. I don't have an unmounted TGN knot, but from memory, their advertised diameter is very close to the widest point, and therefore the resin puck is smaller. Now, when I order', I advise them of the diameter of the handle it is intended for and let them choose for me.

I have found what Doryferon said to be VERY true in all the knots I've set. You will likely have an excessive gap if you attempt this setting you speak of. The top part of the knot may be closer to 23mm, but that still gives you a 1mm gap for which you would need more epoxy. Too little and it would be improperly seated, too much and it seeps out.

+1+1+1+1

It will also depend somewhat on what loft you plan on setting the knot at. If you are setting a fairly low loft like 45 or 46 mm you can probably get away with a 23 mm handle, if you are setting it at a higher loft you will run into the problems the others have mentioned

The handle is OK but always the base knot need some work in the sides and in the bottom
There is no "alignment" on her.
