Feathers are probably my least favourite blades. On the first shave of my coarse, fuse-wire-like whiskers, I have to take a very gentle approach or I look like I've been dragged through brambles - even with a gentle DE89. After that, the fight's gone out of them, and they need so much pressure to achieve anything that - again - I'm awash with blood. My remaining Feathers are in my kitchen for slashing the tops of loaves before baking - they're going nowhere near my face.
Wilkinsons, on the other hand, never let me down. Five shaves, six, sometimes more, lovely and smooth - and effortlessly so. No technique required: it feels like I'm just wiping the bristles off my face with a rubber spatula. So I agree - they're really good - but I wouldn't characterise them as being "as good as Feather", any more than I'd say a Rolls Royce is as good as a Mini.
