I'm 50 miles away and already the sky is red/orange and there's a few flakes of ash falling from the sky. I'm sure in a few hours it's going to look like Armageddon.

My wife and I watched a documentary about the Paradise fire two nights ago! We are driving, and I’m thinking this looks serious. And I’m thinking about how fast the Paradise fire spread. Then traffic stops, and we’re stuck! Luckily only for a few minutes.

Horrible. Another fire, far away, I remember feeling the heat through the glass of the car window ... driving through at speed!

Not directed at you op, but i don’t understand the people that want to look at a dang fire. i was close to two fires once, a big rig on the side of the road, everyone wanted to slow down and look. I don’t know what the hell was in there but I wanted to gtfo fast. Another fire near close to the overpass we were on, the fire close to underneath it. Smoke wasn‘t blocking visibility, but people wanted to stop and look. People, we’re possibly about to be over a fire and you want to stop over it, brilliant!
