Why Switch in Summer

i noticed some people like to switch to a citrus soap such as lime or glycerin based soap when the heat of summer comes
i am a welder and work in some extremely hot temperatures i primarily use tallow based soaps i really haven't seen any adverse effects of using tallow based like heat rash or anything
so what is the the reason for the switch

I believe it's just a scent thing. Citrus scents seem to be suited for summer.

Whoa alliteration. Say that five time fast.

That's my reasoning, indeed. I can easily use the same brand of soap all year but some scents appeal to me more in warmer (or cooler) weather.

I don't switch except I use my Queen Charlotte Vostok more in the summer. I live in Minnesota and Vostok is a bit chilly in the winter. Other than that I use whatever strikes my fancy.

Not only citrusy, also seem to gravitate more towards glycerin and vegetable soaps in summer.

I never thought about it before. I seem to go in spurts, but not sure why. In looking back I used a glycerin (bay rum) soap for Dec & Jan, various tallow based soaps for almost all Feb, Mar & Apr and back to glycerin for May & June. July also looks to be a glycerin month as I have some samples to finish off. I don't care for citrus so that's not a factor in my summer choice. As for scents, Tabac, Marlborough and Bay Rum may be the only soap scents I consciously consider seasonal (fall/winter).

I don't switch away from tallow necessarily I just like a citrus or menthol type scent in the summer. Keep the animal fat coming all year round though for rich lather goodness I say. In the fall and winter I'll go back to the earthen scents which inspire warmth
