Damnit, I knew it. Used a Feather for a sixth shave this morning. Knew the fifth was it, but no... Had to do it. Too lazy to change the blade. Multiple touchup passes on the neck and FAILED the Alum Test.

OK, haven't used a Feather yet, so I have to ask: are they only good for five uses or something?
I'm surprised you were able to stretch a Feather through 5 shaves even!
I suspect average is 2-3 shaves. The Feather may also fail faster. Here is a comparison made by Oscroft.

I had perfectly smooth shave after 12 uses. probably could get more.

I normally get 3-4 shaves out of a feather. Because blades are so cheap I dont see the point in trying to stretch them anr further.
