What's new

Why oh Why are the gods punishing me?

Well my time as one of the long term unemployed has finally come to an end. As I left the office Friday with details finalized and the start date firm...My first thought was now it is time to play catchup and go into serious savings mode..then I turned the corner and walked past a place from my past called Pasteurs.........................................................

Congrats on the new employment.
There will be plenty of future opportunities to shop.

Carry on.

Congratulations on your new job-that must be a good feeling! Don't worry it's not that bad, after awhile you'll settle into a nice rotation but will also realize that you have enough shaving supplies to last until your retirement and you'll no longer feel the urge to make that Bi-weekly Pasteur's run. True story-I work nearby, and this is exactly what happened to me. Last year when I first joined B&B and discovered that place I was going all the time. It's funny the last time I went there though, a couple months ago I think I just bought mostly "normal drug store stuff" like soap and toothpaste, but did stop at the "holy wall of shaving of supplies" to have a look see to see if anything new had come out.

Haha congratulations on a your new job, from what I've read about Pasteurs its a wet-shavers dream come true. Good luck saving and shaving.

As long as you walk past Pasteur's and not into it, you'll stay financially sound. Good luck with the new job!

Congrats on the job. It will be nice having Pastuer's so close as you get your feet back on the ground. Good luck.

You don't have to blow you life savings there to enjoy the experience. A pack of blades here, a shave stick there- you can still visit on the cheap.

Congrats on the job! Maybe once you are past any probationary period you should come back by Pasteurs and reward yourself with a little shopping.

They are not torturing you; they are testing you. Greet good fortune with humility as you greeted adversity with resolve and remember the ancient proverb, "Those whom the gods would destroy they first make mad."
