What's new

Why are shaving brushes so d@#m addictive?

I had one perfectly good shaving brush for ten years. An Omega boar.

Now, 90 days after finding this forum I have seven brushes, and probably more by the weekend.

What is wrong with me?

I hope nothing is wrong with you, because that would mean something was wrong with me! Now if you start sniffing them...Oh never mind, I do that to:001_tt2:

If it's not brushes, it would be something else. :001_smile

I have an EJ Badger, an Omega boar, and the original VDH boar I first started with. I'm covered...I'm happy.

But the aftershaves...

I never though I was the type, and I hadn't used aftershaves for decades until I started shaving the right* way again. :001_tongu:001_tongu

And then I bought a bottle of Clubman, oh, and some Aqua Velva, someone here told my I should try Ogallala Bay Rum, nice! Today, I just picked up some Old Spice (a blast from my past), and I'm browsing the web for new ideas.

Guess I'm going to have to get a bigger shave den. :w00t:

*Incidentally, I never came up with a travel kit. I only own one razor, A SS, and I didn't want to misplace it while on the road. I haven't traveled in a while due to an injury but I was on the road this weekend and my travel bag still had a plastic razor and some canned goop in it. I won't let that happen again. :18:

You have a huge problem!!! The first step is to get rid of ALL but one brush! PM me and I'll give you my address. I will CAREFULLY dispose of them for you.

Well...there's only one solution to this problem...and it's only going to get worse if you don't do something about it RIGHT NOW...PM me for my address...I know just how to dispose of those brushes...

Only thing wrong with you, is that you got too much space on that counter! Your counter has the need... The need for more shave brush.

Just think of them as pets. That would explain naming them and petting them daily.
Umm...as if anybody would do that. :scared:

It's an unanswerable question, a mystery. SBAD just IS, and that's enough for me. Embrace it, friend, for so few things in life abide the way a perfectly obtained brush does.

Good question. SBAD is the only AD I've really 'suffered' from. I guess I just really like the aesthetics of them.

I can be a minimalist in mosts aspects; a razor or two, one or two soaps and creams, a single balm and splash - I can do all that, but I'll likely always hoard brushes to some extent.

What's wrong?

I know that: That beautiful butterscotch handle has no finest TGN companion!

Just send it to me so I can fix that mistake and you'll feel a lot better instantly :wink2:
