Who uses an Axe Detailer?

Who uses a shower pouf?

I found that rubbing the rough areas with Saint Charle's Shave exfoliating microscrub made the skin on my back and shoulders very smooth and soft; whereas the shower pouf just scratches my back and the back of my neck up and makes it look like I've got hookers or cheerleaders coming over frequently (lucky I'm single, no explaining to do...).

I'm thinking these things are meant for cleaning golf balls or something.

Yeah, that looks about right.

Anyone else find these things useless? Useful?

I've never used one, though I have contemplated it in the past. The thing that always stopped me was the price of it. I wasn't about to pay 6 or 7 bucks for a loofah when you can buy the generic ones for 1 to 2 bucks at walmart.

Let me begin by saying I am 41 years old [enter Axe disclaimer use here]
I shamelessly use it, here's why.

It does not look like your average shower poof. It looks like a rubber tire.
The best part it ergonimcally fits your hand and the material grips nicely.

In all honesty I wanted the Old Spice one but I have not seen it up here in Canada yet :001_huh:

+1 to that. I have one and I use it all the time for the same reason. The scrubbing side is great on your feet. I would not recommend using it on the family jewels... although if it would be one of those fine ladies from that comercial I may like it :w00t:

I use one. Not only does it function better because of the scrubby side, it doesn't look as girly hanging in my shower. That alone is worth the extra money. :biggrin1:

I've used this before...but have found a large loofa to be more effective as it has a larger surface area to clean with. I got my loofa in a manly two toned black and grey...go Raiders!

+1 I`m on my third and I am sure I will replace this one with another when SWMBO reminds me ;)

I use it. Smaller, easier to grip, looks less girly. Also doesn't fall apart as easily. The ruffles would slowly pull out of the knot on the generic ones.

I've used a shower pouf for more than a decade now, a normal "girly" one. I don't care that it looks girly.

Not using a shower poof with shower gel is like shaving with a cream without the brush : You are simply not using the full potential of your soap (and you are waisting it too)

I use bar soap without a poof, it's more travel friendly.

Interesting. I have a Gillette puff, Dove shower body wash, and Dr. Bronner's soap. Using either body wash or soap with the puff (yes, I've used both) scratches me up bad, and doesn't seem to exfoliate the skin.

I see some comments on the Axe one itself... maybe I should look into it. I just grabbed whatever, though I find Axe's commercials funny (plus the golf ball/tire thing seems to be the only use I have for the one I bought, since yeah, it actually cuts my skin open!)

The Axe detailer? See above. It creates next to no lather so you use/waste a lot of soap. The rough side is ok, I guess, but definitely not for use everywhere and the sponge side is so compacted that it prevents lathering...

I admit it, I use an Axe Detailer. I like it. It doesn't lather, but its got a good grip. The cheesegrater side is good for knees and elbows, and I don't have a problem with the black side, although it is much coarser than a normal shower poof.
