Who manufactures Merkur Blades?

The Marquis de Sade

 Good theory, I tried a Merkur blade for the first time yesterday, and it came close to torure. Lots of pulling, and when I was done with 4 passes I still had stubble and a burning sensation on my face. Never get that with my Feathers.

Sade made them and Masoch purchase them!!

Anyway, i would like to hear just one fellow here rating this blade as 5*...kind of case study, you know, or another satisfied customer!!

Are Merkur blades made by Merkur, or are they sub-contracted to other blade makers in the Soligen region of Germany?
I wouldn't even bet that they are made in the Soligen region, unless they specifically say so. I do believe it is the same mfg that makes the German Wilks tho.

I didn't have any trouble with them, strangely enough. They actually worked better in my Vision than my never-fail Feathers. Nowhere near as bad as those wretched 7am's.

Merkur's work great in my HD, provide a nice close and smooth shave. A favorite of mine especially using Speick soap or cream for some reason.
