What's new

Who in the U.S. is not eating turkey for Thanksgiving?

I'm frying tilapia, onion rings, hush puppies, and having cranberry sauce, dressing, and pecan pie. :001_smile

The next day I'm grilling salmon fillets. :001_smile

I'm "turkeyed out!"

Y'all are lucky, i don't get much of a choice. I don't care for "holiday food" so I generally live off of macaroni and cheese and non-thanksgiving leftovers for 3-4 days :glare:

Driving up to Montreal, will hit an Italian restaurant, or maybe Au Pied de Cochon. After over a decade of huge events at our place, the wife and I decided that since the kid's off at college, we're not doing the big meal until he has kids of his own.

My big smoker has died, and I am intimidated by the thought of cooking a turkey in the oven, so it will be ham and lasagna this year!

I'm sticking a 24 pounder in the oven at 1AM.

Feel free to add that's what she said.

We're doing a roasted pork tenderloin.

EDIT: I was informed by my wife this evening that we are in fact having turkey. I guess turkey it is.

I have not had a typical Thanksgiving dinner with turkey since "93". I do not eat Turkey or any kind, nor do I partake in any meat eating. I am proud to be a Vegetarian.
Remeber this no Turkey was served at the first Thanksgiving. It was consider cowardice to shot such a lazy bird.
I wish everyone an enjoyable blessed, happy Thanksgiving
