Who, here, has never tried a Schick Injector?

Who, here, has never tried a Schick Injector? And why?
They are wonderful shavers.

Have you not bought an injector yet? Do you have an injector razor but just haven't gotten blades for it yet?

Whats your story?

That would have been me up until a week ago. I hadnt given injectors much thought. But then i got curious and bought one from fellow member Techichi and, as always, the razor was perfect. Took me about a week to get some blades and had my first shave the other day. Really a great experience.

But you were asking who HASN'T tried, so I will stop the hijack and return this thread to it's regularly scheduled programming...

Never really wanted to try one. I know this will sound blasphemous to some, but to me they are too close to a cartridge razor. Not trying to start a post war. They're just not my thing.

Never have. Am satisfied with DE, and see no reason to take on another system.

Yet here you are...lurking on the single edge forum! What would your DE's think? The power of the single edge side is strong.... :w00t:

I'm just kidding. To each their own I always say. I have DE's, SE's, and injectors (Yes, I realize they are also SE before anyone points that out to me),

I haven't used one yet. Because I get great service from my razors. With that said I watched a bogey film that be used one and I have been interested in using one ever since. Using one is on my to do list.

I tried a "Stick Schick" back around 1974 and it really irritated my face. It was kind of a gimmicky razor, and I remember the commercial with someone shaving and pretending to shift gears while moving it over his face. I'm guessing it shaves the same as a plain jane Schick injector. But the experience was so bad that I never tried another injector before or since. I will say the commercial was entertaining, though.

I bought an injector as part of a package deal a while back, but haven't tried it yet because I have no blades for it.

One of these days....

I have not. I just got into se razors (micromatic) and am interested in injectors, but hesitant to add in another blade type to my stock.

Nope, never tried one.Until just a couple weeks ago my face got whatever was cheap/on sale or a few tries at electric......for my skull though it has been headblade.

Injectors are something else, worth a try before you right them off completely. The G8 I got from BST is one of my favourite SE's.

Haven't tried - keen to pick one up and try it.

Any recommendations for a FIRST Schick Injector? And where do we get blades? (haven't googled it, maybe I should...)

Got one on the way, looking for blades at the moment. It looks like that online will be the premium choice but then, I have to get them online for DE and SE also... I didn't try one as DE is more available and enventually moved to straights. I'm slowly working my way around everything (except cartridge and electric) and so far it's good. The SE is smoother than DE for me! YMMV!

I bought a vintage Canadian one WWII error but have not bought blades for it yet, please let us know how you get on.

Mangled myself with a type E, shaved well with a type G, babied myself with a J type....I have PTFE blades on order and will continue the foray into Injectors. I have to say that I may leave the DE world behind with these Injectors, Micromatics, 1912's, and so on.

My first Injector was an L type Schick, very mild but incredibly easy to use and quite easy and cheap to obtain, I went with the 'Chicks' (Chinese Schicks) for blades, once again I had to order from o/seas. I'm still working my way through them, but next time I need SE or Inector blades I will use the Ted Pella Australian agent here: http://www.proscitech.com/cataloguex/online.asp?page=l6 and buy in bulk.
