Who and where are your favorite places to pick your favorite beverages?

Since this is a place we like to chat about Beer, Whisky and Wine. I thought it would be helpful to share your favorite place(s) to pick up your favorite beverages, so others who live in our neck of the woods or visting could check them out.

Binny's Beverage Depot-
Anyone who lives in the Chicago area knows Binny's. It's a gigantic one stop shop for pretty much everything from Beer, wine. and spirits etc. Plus they also sell cigars, and have a great cheese counter. These are located all over the Chicagoland area. The Binny's in the South Loop also has a great tasting room where there are 16 rotating craft beers offered and lots of wine and spirit tastings. http://www.binnys.com/

Famous Liquors- Another great one stop shop. Only two locations in Forest Park and Lombard, IL, but they always have a fine selection of micro brews, wine and spirits. Staff is always helpful and prices are pretty good http://www.famousliquors.com/

Peterson Wine Cellars- My favorite place to buy wine. It's 4 four locations are strangely enough located in Naperville, IL. A fantastic array of wine choices in all price points. The staff is outstanding, and prices are pretty good. They often have really good wine tastings http://www.petersonwinecellars.com/

PJ's Liquor store in Uptown Manhattan. greatest seection of rums, whiskeys and wines, and weekly tastings of new products every Thursday with hot girls serving.
In Astoria Queens, NYC, 31st ST and 32nd AVE, greatest beer selection and hard to find Eastern European, Brazilian, and Greek spirits.

Dave:

Since I know you are a fellow Chicagoan, I have to give a shout-out to a great place to buy beer and spirits:

West Lakeview Liquors - http://www.wlvliquors.com

My friend Kristina is the owner and she is extremely knowledgeable about beer.

It's a nice little neighborhood place with an excellent selection, and they do have tastings from time to time.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out! Always up for trying someplace new.

not many to choose from over here. Since i mostly drink craft beer, Whole Foods and world market are usually my go to places. There was a majestic liquor store ( it had a great beer selection), but i went there last friday and they are closing down.

there are a few bars like world of beer, the ginger man, and flying saucer. but i hardly go there, because i like drinking at home.

Needs milk and a bidet!
I like Woodmans. They have i think 10,000sf of alcohol. Binnys is also great but Woodmans is closer to me, and I actually don't even make it there often, i just stop at my local walgreens or grocery store and snag a sixer of Coors or Miller. I usually save my favorite drinks for when I'm "out". Dogfish Head 90min, or Blue Moon.

In the Dallas area where I live, Total Wine is my go-to place. Their prices are really good, especially compared to the Spec's (Houston chain) that is just up the road from them. Unfortunately, there is a white-haired salesman that stays around the Scotch aisle and he will do some talking to you if you linger in that aisle. I like to "window shop" a lot before I pick out my purchase, and I don't like any suggestions or small talk from a salesman, no matter how knowledgable he seems. That's the only downside, and the prices more than make up for it for me.

I go to Weiland's Gourmet Market. According to the ladies and gents that work there they have around 800 brews and 600 spirits. They also have eight brews they rotate on tap and you can fill up some growlers. When I am done perusing the libation department I go over to the cheese, meat and seafood section. My one stop shop for all things good.
