1st time using Stirling soap and wow its a very good first time experience. Frozen Tundra metholated is like shaving with aftershave. I’m in cloud 9, feeling fresh from start to end.

Also tried face lathering and its a success. Overall its a very good way to start the month. It’s another close comfortable irritation free shave.

Happy shaves everyone !

Some tugging in today’s shave. Suspect either Perma-sharp blade getting duller at 4th shave or poor face lathering attempt. Most likely its the blade. I’m testing its longevity but its what I get for pushing it more. Atleast I got my 1st data out of it before tossing it out.

Still a DFS despite the tugging and looking forward for a better shave next time.

Today is a better shave than the last one. Nacet at 4th use still manage to give a pleasant irritation free shave.

Although I can tell that the blade is nearing its end cycle. Atleast no tugging unlike my 4th shave with Perma-sharp.

Looks like STRIKE 3 & YOUR’E OUT! is my own best blade rule to follow. This may completely avoid any unpleasant experience and just enjoy the shave instead.

Testing blade longevity is fun to study but getting irritation is no fun at all. 🤔🤣

I think I’m leaning towards stainless steel kind of blades. No platinum or chrome coatings because I like Nacet and Astra blue which are both under this type of spectrum.

I’m reading a lot of positive reviews about LORD SILVER STAR, another blade of similar kind. It’s being compared to be as close as my current favorite NACET. Will order some and try it out, hopefully it will live up to its reputation.

Anyways, as always happy shaves everyone !!!

Lord Silver Star is a great blade and you might want to test Shark Super Stainless, Big Ben Stainless as well. They are also made by Lord. I am a big Lord fan. I like most of them.

Lord have lots of blade variety just like Gillettes.
Best Lord blade you tried so far?
Lord Cool, Silver Star, Lord Super Chrome, Shark Super Chrome are my favorites so far from the Lord company. The Lord Super Chrome is seldom discussed here, but I enjoy it very much. It's a slightly better version of the Shark Super Chrome to me, but I like the latter as well even if it gets many mixed reviews.

Oh yeah, I think the Big Ben is pretty decent as well.

GSB 3rd shave still delivers a close shave. Maybe its all in my mind its definitely sharp but for me personally its not smooth as Nacet. It’s like leaving my skin raw.

I consider a blade sharp if it can cut through ATG on my stache without any tugging. I know its painful for others hence why super sharp blades are necessary.

Overall its still very pleasant and enjoyed every second of it.

Happy shaves everyone !!!

Upper lip whiskers has been my nemesis since day one. That is where I develop most weepers because I try for that BBS there. I have found that the area can take more passes so I do WTG, XTG and then on the ATG pass I do 3 ATG passes very lightly. That seems to work for me.

I haven't shaved my upper lip since 2014 and I don't intend to start any time soon.

My chin is slightly less challenging (well, especially now as I'm wearing a goatee, LOL) but when I do shave it I usually finish with two very light ATG passes and try not to buff much if at all. Other spots I can get away with buffing but the chin won't stand for that kind of abuse.

That is why I am not bothered about Rockwell’s big head geometry because I’m among those few who shave ATG. Just like @thombrogan .

Actually I don’t do WTG. 🤔🤣
I feel like its only a waste of pass. Mostly I do ATG > XTG > ATG. Even my clean up and buffing are all ATG

ATG stache is my good personal indicator for a sharp blade.
