Which TTO shaves most like a tech?

A70's style Super Speed

I would say one of the super speeds. I have both the Tech and a flair tip Super Speed and find them to shave about the same.

Great! I had already tried a flare tip rocket, it shaves well but I find it's different from a tech.
I have a black handle superspeed so I am going to clean it and try it out. It's Gillette so the quality should be fine and it's cool looking too.
However, I think the 40's style superspeeds are even cooler looking, do they shave kind of the same?
Too bad I don't have one of those. Yet :)

Flair tip or if you want something a little cooler get the Gillette blue tip (aluminum handle)

If you're looking for a mild shaving razor like the Tech, I'd recommend a '58 Gillette TV razor. Very good quality and it stands out from the other flair tip superspeeds.

Well my black handle superspeed is cleaned and ready.

Some pics to compare with the tech (common alu-tech with straight slots)

My blackhandle superspeed, slim at 3 or 4 and G1000 seem pretty similar to my late 40's Tech in terms of curvature, exposure and effective angles.

However, for me the Tech is superior to these TTO's. More efficient and less prone to bite.

This is probably due to the blade being clamped better (less chatter).

Thanks, I am going to look for a Krona.
According to the wiki the blade gap should be even smaller then a tech so it could be a good bet

I had my first shave with the superspeed. Judging from the pictures it should be at least as mild as the Tech but the angle seems a bit different, I think I can see it in the pictures and it was more obvious when shaving. It gave me two little nicks but I always have to get used to a new razor and it seems better than the rocket for me.
So far the tech still seems better, it just feels like there is more control, so maybe it is something about the blade clamp. But this is just after one shave, I will give it some more time and get back to you.

Well I have used the SS for a while now and have gotten used to it.
It is quick and easy and doesn't nick me anymore but I think I prefer the tech.
I like the easier blade change and it rinses better then a tech, and you can even open the doors when rinsing.
But the head feels a little big when shaving, and the silodoors drag more on the skin then the thin top plate of a tech.
I think I'll go back to the tech for now, I'll get back to you when I have tried a Krona!
