Castle Forbes. Hands down.
Castle forbes is not a soap.
I'm not sure about cushion but D.R. Harris Arlington is very slick.
Tabac. MWF and Arko are right there, as is Old Spice. I think La Toja is just a step below in cushion, but I haven't used it since mid-March.
MWF and Cella are top performers for me. Also the Euro Palmolive shave stick is easy to get good results from.
Arko, Cella, MWF and Tabac are the big four of reasonably priced, easily available great lathering soaps. Some folks report lathering problems because of technique, water quality or style of lathering used (face vs bowl) but for a great quality soap offering good glide and cushion you can't go far wrong with these in your shave kit.
Some people may have a dislike of some of these because of the scent or an allergy to an ingredient but having one of these in the shave cupboard for when you need a reliable fallback is essential.
I personally think I am lucky as all of these soaps work for me and I regularly run them through my rotation.

The Mystic Water soaps are a good option,plus they are not expensive.
Arko and MWF are the best that ive tryed
For me, MWF fits the bill perfectly.

I consider Castle Forbes a soap just like most of the soft soaps the Italians produce. A bit pricey you couldn't do any better than the Lavendar soap they offer, its about the slickest you will find.
MWF. However it may take a few trials to learn how to lather it right. But once you do, it's amazing.
MWF has been my soap of choice for a year or so. I thought there was nothing else like it. But there is, and it may even be better: Mike's Natural Soaps. I've been using nothing else for the last couple of weeks.
The key to lathering either MWF or MNS is twofold: (1) flood the puck with warm water before lathering, and (2) load the brush slowly and for a long time. With either of these soaps, the resulting lather will be magnificent -- as slick and protective as they come.
