Father's Day is around the corner and my dad is a frozen faced freak kinda' guy. Normally I'd just buy both, but his den is pretty stacked and I want to have something to get him for other occasions as well. Please let me know your thoughts!

Pair the IKL with some of the Vostok ASB. It doesn't last horribly long but it's a face freezer for sure.

When I was debating about what to order from QCS, as I had several that I wanted to get. But could only use a couple as I have other soaps/creams in the rotation. I deffinatly wanted a face freezer and had Vostok at the top of the list. I also had Key lime high on the to get list.

So when I heard that QCS released the IKL. I figured that would be a good compromise of the 2. I also figured that since the IKL is a seasonal limited release. I may not get the chance to try until next year. Unless I get some this year. And since Vostok wasn't a seasonal release, I can get it next.

Mikes Peppermint and Rosemary and QCS Iced Key Lime are def both great options.

Mike actually doesnt have any menthol in that soap though I believe. I think the cooling effect comes from the Peppermint EO and is a more fresh, natural cooling feeling to me with none of that signature menthol scent.

On the other hand, the QCS, If I'm not mistaken the IKL uses the same amount of menthol as the Vostok. That way you get a face freeze and a wonderful fresh cut lime zestiness.

I have and use both.

I've used Vostok & Iced Key Lime. They're both great, but it just comes down to your preference in scent. The iced key lime has become my favorite soap of all that I've tried.

The Iced Key Lime is Vostok with the just the Key Lime fragrance added to it. There is no difference in the amount of menthol of the two. Mike's peppermint is a good shave soap, but in terms of face freeze it does not compare to QCS's. The Shave Den has a Sub Zero Shave cream that is very intense, but I enjoy the QCS Iced Key Lime/Vostok I think a little more.

I'd mix my own menthol additive or buy some M-Bomb and make any soap/cream you want a face freezer.
The coldest premade soap/cream I've tried is Vostok, but it's peppermint scented, which makes it a bit boring in my opinion.
Honestly if I had to choose a premade menthol soap it would probably just be Proraso green, decent cooling and I love the medicinal eucalyptus scent.

I would personally go with Iced Key Lime, but that is totally subjective, both are superb and have the same cooling effect.
Besides I don't think it will matter which you get, your father will love it so much he will buy the other:001_cool:

Thanks for the help gents, The order went in. I know the polling said Vostok, but the comments led me to believe my dad would enjoy the IKL more.

Nice choice. The poll is skewed anyway because many more people have tried Vostok over IKL. This is only the 2nd year for the IKL to be offered for the spring/summer season. (Though I believe Matt is keeping it in stock permanently from here on out)

Good choice. Just keep in mind that QCS is on vacation right now and won't be back until 7? Of July I think. So you're order if placed today will ship out early July.
