I recently received my latest purchase. A Gillette fatty and a slim. Now my dilemma is which one to use first. And yes I have toyed with the idea of shaving half my face with one and the other half with the other.

I've done that, not with those two razors, but with my slim and my SS.

I will be facing a similar dilemma today when the mail comes.
Two hands I love it.
If you are trying to figure out which razor you like better isn't this really the best way? If you shave one day with each razor you could end up with slightly different quality lather, especially if you are still learning. This way you guarantee that the lather is the same for each razor.
