Which is best? Thayers or Speick?

Hi guys,

I've tried shaving with a DE, straight razor and normal shaving blades like Mach 3, Fusion and Excels. All of those gave me irritation and cuts. That's why i've started using a GOOD electric razor. This way, i can have a bbs especially when i shave with foam.

Lately i started using my brush again and whipped up some lather to use with my electric. I used peppermint oil in it and what a result. The peppermint straightened and tightened my skin, which made the already impressive bbs even more bbs! It also helped my skin to clear up!

Afterwards i used the Speick aftershave lotion and made me a happy man! :w00t:

This got me wondering, which of both (Speick Aftershave Lotion or Thayers medicated superhazel) do you think is best for fixing burn, whiteheads and irritation (around the adam's apple)?

Thanks in advance guys and have some great shaves!

I don't believe that either product( while quite good in their own way) will help to prevent the problems you speak of.

Having once used an electric for years, I do believe what you are experiencing is from the electric(especially if you get a lot of small tiny whiteheads in that area).

Once I switched to DE shaving, the problems went away.

Hi Marty,

Like i already wrote i shaved with all kind of blades, but all these methods gave me pimples and irritation after the shave even more when shaving for a bbs. Now, when using an alectric i can get a bbs, with only 10 percent of the bumps and irritation left that i had when using blades! Now, i'm noticing that peppermint oil and speick get's me closer to a 100 percent irritation free shave, which got me wondering about Speick vs. Thayers. That's why i ask! ;)

Speick pretty much cleared off all my acne. I still get the occasional one but it worked amazingly well.

I suspect it's simply the alcohol in it, but no other alcohol based AS does as well for me.

On most of my shaves, I have used a combination of w/h + a/s.

However, there are times when the w/h step gets skipped. I will reach for the Speick because it does a wonderful job of 'skin repair'.

There is never a time where I skip splashing on a/s.

I use both after my shave. I use Thayers Rose Petal right after I rinse and dry my face and then I use Speick's Aftershave Balm (ASB).

Hi guys,

I think i will buy Thayers too, because i'm just curious to use it! Lol!

Thanks guys! Have a pleasant day!
