I thought i'd be able to stop buying vintage Gillettes once I got hold of a Tech and Fatboy but I keep coming across other great looking Gillettes I'd like to add to my collection. so far I have a Merkur 33c, Tech, Old Type, Flaretip Superspeed, Super Adjustable & Fatboy in my collection. What other vintage Gillettes are worth looking into? I kinda fancy the Military Khaki Set but i'm also curious about the Aristocrat, President & a few others. Which vintage safety razor is an absolute must-have in my collection?

An Aristocrat (American version) is a fairly affordable, yet outstanding razor. The NEW is perhaps even a better shave and even more affordable.
You might consider a Gillette NEW. It has an open tooth comb and pre-dates the TECH.

I definitely love my Tech. can't say if it's the best Gillette, as i've yet to try the entire Gillette back catalog
The New is fabulous and relatively easy to come by. More difficult, but an extraordinary razor is the New Standard. See the picture I've included from Achim.

I say an open-comb TTO like a Sheraton, 'Ristocrat, maybe even a Preznit(President). That is one of the last types of DE's I want to add to my arsenal. I am waiting and watching. Add another vote for a New. I loke mine. A Red-tip should be about a Slim on 5.

I think I might actually have an open comb ball handled New in my collection. I bought one from some guy on ioffer.com but it had to hairline cracks in the handle, even though he said it was in good condition.
