Which D.R. Harris smells most like TOBS Jermyn Street?

I live out in the boonies and don't get a chance to "smell test" stuff for comparison. Even when I make it into the city there are no places that have a wide enough selection for meaningful comparisons. I really like the Jermyn Street fragrance and just ordered some in the soap version, but I'm jonesing to try a D.R. Harris in the lovely wooden bowl. :001_tt1:

So my question is, in your experience which of Windsor, Arlington, or Marlborough has a similar scent?

I don't think any of them really smell like Jeremyn Street, but Arlington smells like a really clean, upscale soap. I mean this in the best possible way.

Windsor is my favorite DRH scent. The scent is hard to describe for me, but it's woody with some lime scent. It smells somewhat like Pens BB a little to me. This is the first scent I tried that I bought the matching aftershave and cologne.

A lot of people love the scent of Marlborough, but I don't like the dry, old wood scent of Marlborough. All DRH soaps perform extremely well, but I don't like the scent of this. I've been trying to trade the wooden bowl full of Marlborough I have for some time. I don't think I'll ever be without Windsor, though.

Okay thanks, that's helping. I guess the vetiver and the patchouli are warming up the citrus in the Windsor, sounds nice. To me the Jermyn Street "smells like a really clean, upscale soap" so it's hard to decide! I know - get both right? :biggrin1:

It's been a while since I tried Jermyn Street, but Arlington is probably what you're looking for. The two are certainly not the same or even close to the same scent, but I'd put them in the same broad category. I prefer the Arlington scent to Jermyn Street, and the performance of DRH soaps blows TOBS away, IMO. I've only had a small sample of Windsor, and it is a wonderful scent, but I wouldn't say it is similar at all to Jermyn Street. Of course, I see you already know the answer.

Okay, thanks! Arlington it is then. Or Windsor... possibly both. Hey, maybe one in a bowl and one as a refill. That makes good economic sense, right?

You can't go wrong with either Arlington or Windsor. I would say Arlington is the closest to TOBS Jermyn St., but really they are not the same at all. Windsor is like a peppery vetiver and Arlington is like a citrus fougere. They are both great scents.

Windsor is the best DRH scents to me. Arlington is next after that, with Marlborough coming in third for me.

Just to be clear, none of the DRH scents smell anything like Jermyn St. Arlington is a great citrus scent. Windson smells like dirty lemon (to my nose), and Marlborough smells like cigarette butts.

Arlington is fern with some citrus but mostly I pick up the fern. Windsor is citrus with vetiver and something a bit leathery. It's the most complex of these. Malborough has a great cedar scent. It reminds me of sticking my nose in an empty wine barrel even though those are made of oak. All three are excellent soaps that I enjoy very much.

Coming from a guy who spent the extra coin for the MWF ceramic dish, Tabac bowl, and several GFT and T&H wooden bowls, skip the wooden bowl. I got my Arlington puck later and dropped it in an Old Spice mug and loved it. I lathered a full puck of GFT Coconut from the bowl and ended up tossing it afterward. I will not lather in a wooden bowl again. I will probably get rid of my wooden bowls on BST shortly.
