where to get materials for the wedge?

Well i have gotten myself into restoring straight razors which is new to me but have gotten down with the blade sanding and polishing.

Now i am getting started with trying to make scales.

My only dilemma now is the material for the wedge.

What material to use and where to buy it from.

I would also like to know where to get different different colors for the wedge.

All help would be appreciated as usual and wish me luck.

any hard material seems to work. hard wood, g10, bone, ivory, horn, plexi, pvc, jumbo thumb tack plastic ( i think i saw), micarta, metal...

try masecraft or ebay or any knife supplies selling shop.
