Where I Do The Deed

I do not like the expression "shave den." I am not sure why. This is my master bath where I shave. Shown is most of my gear. I brought out the Techs only for the photo; they don't sit there all the time.

The bathroom was newly remodeled with a sink and side units from Lowes. Oddly enough the medicine type cabinets with the beaded glass fronts were from Home Depot - part of a totally different collection. The pink solution in the little square container is C O Bigelow mouthwash, in a 1930's Lavoris bottle.

That stand is a piece of finished wood that came from a closet unit. It is beveled and meant to be screwed into the wall to steady the unit. My unit fit right into the closet without having to be hung. Thus, I had these wood pieces left over. I drilled holes in them and voila!

Sweet looking "shave..... er.... place" :001_smile

I call mine my "shave cathedral". Plenty of counter space and good lighting.

The Napa Soap mug is porcelain and is filled with soap; I obtained it from of all places a JC Penney Outlet. That is where I found the chrome brush stand that holds my Merkur 37C. That is not so prominent in the first picture.

Very nice. You don't have to call it the shave den, but it is where you do your shaving, so I guess its kind of your own little nitch where you do the shave.

These units came with limestone tops. They are Lowes, Allen & Roth; I forget the name they gave for the collection. Limestone is a royal pain because it is so porous. I sealed it and sealed it with an expensive sealer, but if you leave anything on there too long it could stain. However the price point of these pieces was low, given the natural stone countertops, bowed front of the main cabinet, the finish and overall fit.
