When the Lather is that Good

Yesterday I tried to use Proraso Green as my cream and couldn't make a lather to save my life. My neck and shoulders were in pain so my actions probably weren't as strong as they needed to be to make a good frothy lather. I had a shave with my Arran Aromatics this morning, but part of me wanted retribution. Fast-forward two hours past my last shave and I decided to give the Proraso lather another go (I'm sick off work and bored out of my skull). Anyway, it seemed to be going the same way, thin, watery, and not what I usually got from Proraso. Then it all sprang into life, and the lather looked so amazing I had my face under a hot towel in seconds. Used a Derby blade as I'd used a Feather previosuly and a BBS had been mostly achieved so I just touched up. When the lather looks that amazing, *Sean Bean voice*one does not simply waste good lather.

You should have grabbed your camera while the towel was getting hot.

Nothing like recording a "major lathering event" to show everyone else.

Thanks for the link. Proraso has never given a truly bad lather before, so I put it down to my odd neck problem. However I am planning to buy more Proraso products (the soaps) so reading that was helpful.

I find my Proraso lathers best and slickest when I super lather it. I used to do it with some cheap Williams soap, but one day I was out and I put a small drop, not even the size of a dime, of my Nivea body wash in the bowl and then added Proraso Red to my brush as usual and lathered. The lather built up super nice and thick, in very short order, and had an additional slick quality that really helps. Days when I have time I use this method. Days I don't have time to truly enjoy the full routine I use Cremo Creme. That stuff is slicker than goose crap. Holy cow, why have I never tried combining THOSE 2 before!???

The Proraso and the Cremo Creme, not the goose crap you sicko's.

Jeff_H,

If you like Cremo, sometime you might try Kiss My Face Moisture Shave. I like it better, and I usually can find it cheaper.
