When did you throw out your cartridge razors?

(Assuming that you did)

I threw mine out the first time I achieved a good shave with a DE with no irritation, soreness or ingrown hairs. It is something that I could never achieve when shaving every day using a cartridge razor. I threw it out because I knew I didn't need it any more and because it was a symbolic victory in that I had improved my skill at DE shaving to the point that I knew I didn't want to use any other form of razor (excepting a SE).

If I go on holiday, I'll put a razor and a packet of blades in my hold luggage.

I've not bought a cartridge for it since I started with a DE but I still have my Mach3, its in a drawer somewhere around here.

Since December I haven´t bought one again.I still keep my last new Mach 3 as a memento, and use it to shave off hair from my ears (yes i do that:angry:)

Never regretted the change and now looking forward to my straight razor,,,

My Mach3 is still in my bathroom, collecting dust. I never really planned on using it again after I bought my first DE (34c), but I thought my wife may want to use it for shaving her legs, especially since I bought a couple of boxes of cartridges for it the week before I got into DE shaving. However, that didn't work out either since once I bought my SlantBar, she claimed my HD Classic for herself. :)

I still have mine. I use it for touching up the back of my neck (I cut my own hair), and for the odd occasion that I need a very quick, brainless shave. It's a good tool for shaving areas that have an awkward approach in general, because using a DE in those places would probably result in irritation and/or cuts.

i still have my gillete sensor, i use it for shaving my head (i do that once a week), i havent tried shaving my head with a DE yet, i need a little more skill, which comes with time.

I regret tossing some cartridge handles, including my very first (metal Atra), a few years ago, so I don't think I'll do that again.

Since I switched to DE, I've even added a Trac II as well as a Hydro (heavily discounted) and a free FusionProGoo. The single blade on the back of these carts will come in handy for the pesky whiskers under my nose.

I still have mine left. Since I travel sometimes in the job and often fly with only carry on luggage cartridge is still the easiest option here. I still get a good shave even though I do not enjoy it as much and the end result is not as good. So I will not check in the bag only to get the shaving equipment if I would otherwise only have carry on.

Well, I'm only 4 or 5 DE shaves in, buy my cartridge razors have been moved from the prime real estate of the drawer next to the sink to the recesses of 'under the sink' (it's a scary place down there).

SWMBO is using it.. truth told, she confessed she always did which might have contributed to poor shaves I was getting.. She escalated the shave count without me knowing.

I used it once after starting to wet-shave, to clean up under my nose, but haven't touched it since.

I still have the following cartridge razors:

BumpFighter Trac II

Atra

Sensor Excel

Mach 3

Schick Quatro

Fusion

In the past year I have used the Trac II and the Atra quite a few times, the Sensor Excel a few times, and the Mach 3 once. I haven't used the Quatro or the Fusion at all.

-Electric dry for many years
-Mach3 for about a year
-Electric wet for about a year
-The DE introduction (about the age of 25) -finally a good shave :)

I hate checking luggage so kept my M3 for trips. Have an Atra and a Trac II handle on standby for when I finally use up the cartridges.

Although I use mostly injectors and SEs these days, with the occasional DE shave, I rarely throw away anything that isn't actually broken. Anyway, I'm kind of attached to my old Atra handles, which I've had for 25 years or so. They might see service on a trip, or when I happen to feel like it. Same for my couple of Trac II compatibles, and for the Schick Hydro, all of which I bought after joining B&B, and after learning to use a DE.

The Fusion will probably never see use again, but I'm not so desperate for space that I need to throw it out. It's a part of the collection. I bought it after joining B&B also, because all the vituperation it attracted made me curious.:wink2:

I still like to stick my cartridges in my rotation. I never disliked cartridges and never had any issues with them. I kinda like using them. Nowhere near as my DE, SE, SR8Ts, or Injectors, but still like them.

I came upon anything but a cartridge by mistake, but enjoyed it. In fact I shaved with my trac II yesterday and my sensor twin excel last week. Today was my beloved red tip though.

The second I received my first DE (Merkur HD) I gave all my cartridge blades to my father (who is impossible to convert). I still have my Fusion, though. I am not sure why I am keeping it

A few months ago, I gave all of my cartridge stuff to my father. Yes, I've tried to get him to go to DE, but he had trouble with them years ago and isn't willing to give it another try. Oh well, at least he was happy to get the spare handles and cartridges.
