What's new

What's your "uniform"?

By uniform, I mean what you normally wear from day to day. If people were to see you on the street, what would they see you wearing? For me, it would generally be a plain white t-shirt, a pair of flat-front khakis and black leather shoes.

So what's your "uniform"?

P.S., If your "uniform" is an actual uniform, let's hear what it is!

I have now switched into my summer uniform:

Day:

Aloha shirt (various)
Khaki cargo shorts (various)
Birkenstock sandals

Night:

Cargo shorts replaced with cargo pants
Sandals replaced with low Chuck Taylors.

I occasionally augment the aloha shirt with faded t-shirts from gyms or dojos where I once worked out, or organizations that I once belonged to. I am beginning to run low on these shirts, many of them lovingly worn for a decade or more, because my daughters have begun to "borrow" them for either PT or some nefarious purpose that remains unclear to me. I am sometimes envious when I see someone wearing a colorful t-shirt from a luxurious resort or tony bar. Unfortunately, the places that I frequent rarely sell shirts--at least not ones that my spouse would allow me to wear in public.

Relaxed fit jeans, layered shirts, and cross trainers. Go ahead and tell me I have no fashion sense. I'm comfortable and I don't care.

People say I clean up pretty well, though, so I can look good if I care to.

Most of my waking hours I wear scrubs and whatever running shoes I have most recently worn out. Comfortable and very fashionable with all the medical shows on nowadays. After work in the summer is cargo shorts, usually camoflauge, t-shirts usually fire dept., Army, etc. and sneaks. My toes are way too ugly for sandals. Army combat uniform(ACU) one weekend a month and two weeks a year. Fire dept. dress uniform 2-3 times a year.

I sport shorts and a cotton shirt with a pair of sandals in the summer. In the winter jeans and sweaters daily.

T-shirt and khakis: very good choice Shane.

But not black shoes:lol: Try brown:smile:

At the moment I like chinos/khakis and a plain grey t-shirt with brown nubuck eccos, dressed up with a gingham shirt and brown brogues. Harrington jacket or tweed sportcoat on top.

Dress down/slob out is cargo shorts, ecco walking shoes and t-shirt (Hayseed Dixie 2006 Tour Tee today).

Wranglers, t-shirts in summer, henleys in winter, steel toed wellingtons (I work in an industrial lab. Everybody except the secretaries has to wear steel toed boots).

On normal days: Light or dark Lee Knox jeans, tshirt & a Blue worn Lee jacket(been with me for half a decade now.) White Nike sneakers or Ekko grotex mountain shoes during autumn/winter.
On hot summer days: Light Lee Knox jeans, worn out ones cut off above the knee if the weather is hot enough. tshirt+white Nike sneakers if I need to look presentable, no shirt & lime crocs if I feel like it.

Clothes is such a bother. I stick with something simple and try not to worry about it. I hate shopping for clothes, so I tend to go with quality brands that lasts long.

Summer: lightweight jeans or khakis or shorts (if it's hot enough) w/a short-sleeve tshirt. Or sometimes a button-down short-sleeve or Hawaiian-style shirt. Sneakers or sandals.

Winter: Jeans & long-sleeve tshirts, w/a sweater added on colder days. Sneakers or Merrill slip-ons.

Work clothing is a dark blue matching shirt and pants with shoulder patches about 27 lbs of gear. Day-to-day I go with jeans and T-shirts, usually with some design on the front. Usually Skechers, but sometimes I throw on a button-down with some boots to dress it up a bit. I prefer carpenter jeans. I can easily carry an extra mag in the side pocket.

I was strongly tempted to post a picture of Borat in his thong bathing suit, but I am showing restraint. You are welcome.
