Thread bump to show off my new travel set which arrived yesterday from Germany: A 1960s complete Feather 1200 set. And after my inaugural shave this morning I have to say that my Tech Thin Handle has been dethroned.

This is Tech shave quality clad in a more hefty package at 63 grams of thick chrome. Great weight, great balance, great grip and mild efficiency par excellence. And the zippered leather pouch is too cool for school :001_tt1:

Remember to forget me!
It depends on the length of stay.

For an overnighter, I'll just have the Merkur 985 pocket razor, a sample tub with a slice of Palmolive stick in, and a pack of cheap blades which have the used blade slot (Derby Extra, Personna Platinum). No brush, just wet fingertips. I'll also have a travel toothbrush and mini tube of toothpaste. It all fits in a jacket pocket easily.

For a longer stay, I'll take my full Eagle Creek Koala washbag, which has the same soap and blades, but with the Wilkinson Sword Classic plastic razor, and an Omega Hi-Brush. I don't tend to take post shaves, unless there's an event of some description as part of the trip.

I stick to the cheaper blades, as I hate throwing out my preferred blades that come in the same packs (Wilkies, Feathers) before the blade has reached the end of its life.

I'm a Lumberjack.
I dont have a set kit. I have a few bags and settled on the bad duffle dopp kit and i usually fill it as needed. If i fly and checking a bag ill take two kits one with the razor and blades in the checked bag. All carry on short trips i take a Gillette guard.

Please don’t laugh on me because I still own an archaic travel set up. I know it’s old, but I got used to it already. These all new razors, trimmers, blades, brushes and after shaving creams which the market offers aren’t for me. In fact, I don’t need many stuff to take care of my skin and to look nice. I remember when I went with my old friends I was ashamed of my travel set up at first. They all had all these new brand tools. When they saw my travel set up, they were laughing saying that our friendship is the same old as my travel kit.

Flying:
  • Gillette Good News disposable;
  • Synth brush;
  • Arko stick;
  • Nivea Balm;
  • Frag samples.

Driving*:
  • Lord L6;
  • Synth brush;
  • Tuck of blades;
  • Arko stick;
  • Nivea Balm:
  • Frag samples.
*This is a basic driving list. As I tend to overpack, there's no telling what else I might throw in. In fact, I don't think I've ever gone anywhere this light. :tongue_sm

  • An SRD steer strop I shortened for travel use
  • Usually a Wade and Butcher shorty blade in a travel case
  • Thater Funf brush in a travel case
  • Small Shaving Bowl (though I have had Qantas Airlines crush two of them in the past two years!)
  • A tube of La Toja Crema

So this doesn't much variate from what I normally use here at home!

Shaving Factory TTO in a hard plastic case.
Vokshod Blades.
Arko Stick
Kent Silvertex synth brush
Nivea balm.
Packed in a small hard Pelikan clone case.

If I were going to take a road trip anywhere (unlikely until the weather cools off here -- say, in December), I'd bring a pack of blades, my vintage Gillette Superspeed or NEW SC, either a travel-size Barbasol or a tube of Palmolive, and a spray bottle of Old Spice. I have a vintage leather shaving kit, a big wallet-like thing, that will hold quite a bit of supplies.

Plane? I guess I'd have to check that stuff in my luggage and hope it makes it with me.

Vintage Gillette 7 O'Clock OC razor.
Gillette 7 O'Clock Green blades usually
Simpsons Wee Scot brush
Palmolive stick
Speick aftershave

Cheap and a setup I wouldn't be too upset if i lost. Easily replaceable. Small to carry. Provides a very good shave.

At my Girlfriends place I have .......

Edwin Jagger DE89
Omega 49 Professional brush
Arko Soap in dish
Brut aftershave
Derby and Astra blades
Paco Rabane Black XS cologne

Almost the same setup I started with and one I still love dearly

I keep it simple. I traveled for work at least 6 or more times a year and another 2-3 times for pleasure until we were shut down in March. I usually flew, but drove whenever I could.
Here's what's in my kit right now:
Trac II
Simpson Classic 1 synthetic in tube
DR Harris Marlborough stick
a couple small samples of Myrsol C after shave
a tube of moisturizer

rbscebu

Girls call me Makaluod
Carry-on dopp is:
  • Chinese generic SS shavette without blade
  • Chinese generic pure synthetic genuine badger hair brush
  • ¼ Palmolive shave stick
Checked dopp is:
  • Gold Dollar W59 SR
  • 450mm x 60mm calf-hide travel strop
  • Chinese generic pure synthetic genuine badger hair brush
  • Tube of Sanofi shave cream

Generic or not, pure synthetic genuine badger hair brush sounds funny to me.
Cannot really wrap my head around it so, a picture would help.

Razor: Lord L6
Blades: Astra SP
Cream: Palmolive
Brush: Cheap Synthetic
A/S: Generic Old Spice
