whats your most expensive fountain pen

Jinhao X450 - £3.50 from eBay back in 2015. Writes like a dream, without any leakage issues. Due to the nature of Chinese characters the nibs tend to come up a bit on the fine side, but the mediums (and broads, if you can find them) are excellent.

The one I paid the most for was a Ranga 3c eyedropper, but the one worth the most is probably a Pelikan m120 that my mother picked up cheap at an estate sale. Neither one gets much use. I really like the Ranga except it burps and I don't write enough for the amount of ink it holds. The Pelikan just needs a little nib work as it is a little scratchy.

Here I am, 1st again.
My sister gave me her fountain pen. It is 14 K gold, the nib. It is my most expensive pen.

It is a Sheaffer.

My Peter Unbehauen 1,1mm Bock nib commission. Paid $185 2-17-2014. In the pens to the right, it's the second uncapped from the bottom (not that nib though). Cap is like the one at 7 - 8 o' clock - CW second bottom.

I am not sure of current value - I see prices flying around all over the place, I have a Waterman Edson and an M800 demonstrator.

Just some photos, but not the most expensive...

When I retired from teaching I bought a Mont Blanc Alexandre Dumas and sent it to Greg Minuskin for a sharp cursive italic grind.
I use only Galilio Manuscript Brown in it.
Had a phone interview with a woman collector in Mexico to see if I were worthy of the pen. She would only sell it to someone who "deserved"it.
I passed the test!

Which signature on the pen?

Initially I was thinking my MB Einstein was the most expensive but I think the time my cheapo fleabay pen that ran out of ink in an important business meeting was the one that cost me the most. :crying:

My Montblanc Meisterstuck No. 149 in gold trim.

I paid $250.00 for it, but where I'm at right now, they're selling for about $1,300.

I'd NEVER pay that much for a pen (not yet, anyway), but that is the most expensive one I own, yes.

Been after one for 10 years, and finally got it.

This award goes to my second hand MB 146 gold trim bought for 337AUD in 2018. It’s a real beauty. I wanted one for a long time but I could not bring myself to pay the full retail price. I have not been disappointed. It arrived in mint condition. For my hand this pen is the epitome of ergonomic perfection. Loaded with Platinum Carbon Black it has not missed a beat. It has been loaded full time since I got it and I use it most days.
