What's your favorite drinking game?

I love drinking games. How about you? My friends and I usually make them up on the spot. Just last week we did a Haiku drinking game (or rather Senryu if you want to be curmudgeonly), where everyone had to take turns saying a haiku on the spot, and if your syllables didn't match you take a shot.

Anyway, what drinking games do you play?

Oh, come on! What's the harm in having some fun with some friends once in a while? You're telling me you never enjoyed a good game with your buds?

Hard for me to remember. It's been so long since I've been 18.

Nothing wrong with having fun, but drinking games focus entirely on drinking for the sole purpose of getting drunk and that's not good. I know this one from experience. I played them in college, myself and every person I knew who was involved in that was drinking way too much and only drinking for debauchery's sake.

I encourage the discussion of fine spirits, beer and wine here. In moderation I believe they can enrich one's life, but simply drinking just to get wasted, it's not something I ever want B&B to encourage. I personally disagree with the intent of this thread. It's sophomoric and not in the spirit of the Speakeasy.

Quite right. My apologies.

No problem. Many of us have played them, but in subsequent years you often come to realize that they are symptomatic of behavior that can be very destructive. I've paid for mistakes that I created for myself in my younger years along that line. I know we'll never stop college kids from playing these games, but I don't want B&B to encourage drinking in this way. Now if you want to talk about your favorite single malts, that's another story.

Sorry. No harm intended. I was just looking to hear some good stories.

in my 20's we passed many a night playing quarters.i could usually ring the whiskey glass 12 or 13 times in a row,one girl in the group could ring it 30 times.you really did not want her made at you.

if i recall correctly our rules were--whiskey tumbler, american or canadian quarters.bounce the quarter off the table, ring the glass and name who gets the drink.10 rings in a row and you get to make a rule.example--now all drinks go to joe or all drinks are doubles.(this explains why you did not want that girl mentioned earlier mad at you.)
fun,foggy memories.:biggrin1:

I must say, nikkuchan displayed the very attitude of a gentleman that is encouraged here. No matter how he felt, he was polite and rational enough to see Timmyboston's point and not make an issue of it. Good form!

Thanks for the encouragement, but I must say that Timmyboston's right. Maybe this thread should be demolished.
