My Manchurian doesn't have the ring- only the silvertip. I believe it squeezes the base of the knot to cut down on the floppiness characteristic of silvertips. And I believe the kool kids call it a ferrule, not a ring. Ferrule is a fancy word... for ring.Ohhh. How come mine doesn’t have a fancy silver or gold ring?!
