I had a couple beautiful (dead) red oak trees cut down late last year. I split a whole bunch just before winter turned real cold. But, I still have to chainsaw and split nearly a ton (no exaggeration) of wood. So, I figured I would start the day off with a hefty breakfast -

Well, after just a short time chopping wood my youngest daughter asked whether I would like her to make me some French toast. She was so excited I did not have the heart to say I had already eaten breakfast.

I decided to channel Pippin from Lord Of The Rings and consider this "second breakfast" -

And, of course, being a budding young animation illustrator she brought that artistic talent to constructing a strawberry 'flower'.

I am laughing really hard. That thought never even crossed my mind.

Toasted gluten free bread,topped with cream cheese and a slice of salmon with 2 poached eggs and then topped with home made hollandaise sauce. And 1 fresh avacado. Black coffee.

One of my favorite condiments is back in TJs - sweet-n-hot Jalapeno peppers. Decided to mix some into my standard breakfast of sauteed veggies and over-easy eggs, made all the better when paired with the wife's homemade bread -

Today was the start of my work week, so before I left the house, I was served homemade biscuits and gravy with a bacon and cheese omelette.

I sauteed some thin-sliced wedges of potato mixed with onions, mushrooms, and pulled pork. This was the side to my over-easy eggs, and homemade toast.

One of my favorites is scallions, hot pork sausage, and scrambled eggs with a dollop of crème fraiche mixed in at the end. Here, the eggs are laid on top of two slices of toasted TJ's Brioche.

Another favorite is simple eggs over-easy on a bed of sauteed veggies and two slices of sprout bread slathered with smoked salmon cream cheese -

I also am really enjoying this yellow Sriracha hot sauce on my eggs and just about anything else I think to douse it on!

I'm in the same boat. I have some fat green tomatoes now, but nothing will be ripe for what feels like forever.

Homegrown tomatoes rule!
