Sorry guys, but this is a minor rant thread, not a question or recommendation. Any of you purchase from California North? It's been awhile since I have. Probably two years ago I purchased the Gelskin Wash as well as the Sea-Blast Shampoo. I liked the shampoo more than the wash, so last week I thought I'd give the shampoo another try as I'm running low on my current bottle of Aveda. Got the order yesterday only to find the box partially crushed (a FedEx issue, not a CN issue) and that some of the product had leaked out inside. I wasn't too upset. It's happened with other orders of mine in the past, but I can literally count on one hand how often it's happened. Usually a company replaces the product after I've sent back the defective bottle, or in some instances just ships me a new bottle altogether and doesn't request the other back. Though I never expect such treatment as I am always ready, obviously, to return the one I had initially received.
Today California North offered to send me a 2oz. travel size bottle to replace what had leaked out during shipping. What?! I sent them an e-mail asking for an address to send the first bottle back to be replaced with another of the same item and this is the best they can do? Seems strange to me. I'm paying for a premium product and I expect to receive it in one piece without issues. The funny thing is two days after I placed the first order I decided to place a second order for their shave cream as well as their Oxygen fragrance for men. Another $66 or so. I doubt I'll be keeping that order once in arrives. I'll just return it and take my business elsewhere. It's nice to see that CN can afford to lose business with subpar solutions to their customers problems. Anyone else have any experiences like this with California North? It's a shame as their products are quite nice. Back to Kyoku or Baxter I go! Thanks for listening.
