I have had a couple Schick Injectors, in fact have used most of them. My best shaves with the Schicks come from the Dial Adjustable models of the mid 60's. The only PALs I have tried are the Adjustables. The latter have some well documented potential problems, see this post http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=141043. I haven't read of any recurrent malfunctions with any of the Schicks.

I always have an adjustable in the short rotation, and prefer the Schick myself, the "good" PALs shave well but seem to have a smaller range of adjustability.

Some of them had problems with uneven grinding at the blade holder, and give less than stellar results. I have a nice Pal injector with good, even grinding that I need to try some more. I had problems with not being able to get a close shave with mine, but it may have been the blade or my technique. I can't see anything wrong with it. As soon as the blade in my early E type Schick gets dull, I'll pop a new blade in it and learn how to use it.

The only PAL injectors I know of that have had issues are the ajustable ones. That being said..

The finest shave I've ever gotten came a week ago with my "new" old PAL Injecto-Matic. Baby-butt-smooth, not even sandpaper against the grain feel afterwards. Not one of my DE razors - be it Gillette or anything else - has given me this kind of awesome shave. Some of my DEs have come close but not the same.

I got one this week from the Bay [my first injector] a beige injector-matic and on its second outing I got a BBS from it, 20 hrs later and my face is still presentable, I'll have to wait to late this afternoon for a shave now, btw I'm using Personna PTFE blades with mine.

I've got some of those blades on the way for my PAL Injecto-Matic. I've been using the Fred's store brand blades and they've given great shaves - as I said before, the best shave I've ever had. But I'm excited to give the Personna PTFE blades a spin. If they are as good as the PTFE single edge blades, I'll be hooked for sure.

I use the PTFE Gem blades in my SE's and the injector blades are on par with those, look forward to some great shaves with those babies.

I might end up selling mine, after I get the hang of it. I need to clear out some room in the shave den.
I saw a non-adjustable pal that looks just like the adjustable, without the adjustment knob.
The Personna Injector(that I should have bought when I had the chance) was just a black non adjustable Pal.

If we can lump Personna in with PAL, then let me say that I love my Personna stainless injector. It's pretty light, and a pain in the butt to load, but shaves great and looks great!
