Since I started this journey I have been on a rampage to find the perfect brush, and by golly I think I have it! I have used mainly badger silvertips, I have two that were made with TGN knots and two whipped dog brushes. I also have one Omega boar that I really like. I like all of my brushes, but I wanted to find a brush I could love. I measured the handles and knots of all my brushes and had an idea of the size brush I was looking for. I read reviews on here, looked at pics and descriptions on all the vendor websites. I knew I wanted something with a taller handle and a knot size kind of in the middle. So if you were looking for the perfect brush, who would you call? Mr. Rudy Vey is the correct answer. OK, I didn't call him but I did email him! I told him I was interested in a brush with a handle similar to a Simpson Polo and a 2-band fan knot. I saw his post about the difference between bulb and fan, and I saw a picture of what he called a flat top knot. He informed me that Shavemac makes the flat top knots custom and it takes a month to get here from Germany. This made me want one even more. I decided on a butterscotch handle. So after a long wait, the packaged arrived this afternoon and I couldn't be happier. I made a couple test lathers already and am very impressed at how soft this brush can be while still having plenty of backbone. Mr. Vey, if you read this, thank you! You do fine work and I never imagined this brush you made for me would be this awesome! Now......some pics!!!
