What's new

What's on your work bench right now?

Ian #2....if things go sideways you could always go back to the originals but with your skills i bet #2 will look just like the originals :clap::clap:

Hmmm Thank you Dean!!!
But I have never done this before so it going to be a new learning curve for me, more so it those scales look good as I will remove the inlays to put on the new scales.

And that will render the old scales as toast but I'm not sure if I will go that far lol...

Showed these old Sheffields some love. I expect I will likely cut down my rotation to these two.

Those 2 look beautiful Sir!!! :001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1::001_tt1:

Frederick Reynolds was my very first straight razor, to me they are the same as Wade & Butcher I'm sure they used the same blanks......
Yeah I am 100% convinced it is the same blank as a W&B Celebrated. These are my favorite two razors far and away.

Yes but this is not a gun blue that's what has been throwing me, this is the shank before I did anything to it

so now you can see it it has a blue shine to it as though you can see the metal below the colour.

But gun blue is a lot darker blue, so if I had gone that route it would take it away from its normal colouring. As that is an option to fall back on as Luecke2326 did his with gun blue.....
Ian, mate...... That turned out Aces! Sorry for the late reply, as I'd been out for quite some time... I hope you love yours as much as I do!

@Ice-Man that Blue Diamond looks great. I passed bidding on one like it, but it was S.R. Droescher?
Now those are the ones you should definitely snap up! The S.R. Droescher razors were likely made by Grahm and Plumacher but I have yet to find conclusively that they are. As far as I am concerned the build and over all finish on the S.R. Droescher razors are superior razors for their time(1916-1924). I am still on the look out for a fine Droescher 14K Gold and a Swift, but they have eluded me for years...... I'd love to have a Droescher Escher/Thuringian stone, but they are way high and I already have an Escher.

Update to the Dubl Duck Wonderedge scales, they both came but No 2 it is as they are far better looking than No 1.
Both have been cut and shaped to size now on to the rounding, this is just to give you an idea how they are doing these have only been rough sanded at 340 grit.

I cannot wait till these are polished up......
