What's in your bag?

Thought this might be An interesting discussion on what really matters in life and living with a lot less.

If you we're going to live out of one bag for a year or two what would you put into the bag? The only restrictions are you must be able to carry and travel with it?

I'll go first. Small 2000 inch backpack or carry on bag. I'd have 1 change of business casual clothes, 1 pair of shorts, a good DE kit (goes without saying, right). A small flashlight, hat, small pocket knife, a few family photos and a personal bible. Passport, ipod, and light jacket too.

So what is your bag and what is in it?

Ha, if I had that in my bag that's all I have. My wife would take the rest including my shaving gear!

Toothpick

Needs milk and a bidet!
I'd go with a backpack and have basic toiletries and shaving gear. an iPad or similar mobile device for staying in touch with the world. sunglasses, pair of jeans, pair of shorts, couple shirts, couple undies, couple socks. prolly be it. no shoes except what are on my feet.

idk what else i'd need.

cell phone.

More serious replies would be appreciated.

Actually Legion's reply does make sense ... money, or something of value that can easily be exchanged, is one of the most useful things you can carry.

I was told that army pilots were issued Omega and Rolex watches for that reason; they are recognized as valuable everywhere.

Only thing I would add would be my blue sackcloth blazer that goes everywhere with me.

I am working on an EDC bag. Now I have my contact lens case and cleaning solution, Bible, journal, FAK. Still working out what else I want to carry it and what I want to carry it in.
