Just finished up:
kachumber salad (me made)
onion relish (me made)
aloo palak (cheated)
chana masala (cheated)
samosas (cheated)
onion kulcha (cheated)
naan (cheated)
We have an Indian market near us and their selection of frozen & ready to eat packaged food is staggering. I've tried enough of them over the last few years to know which to avoid. Some are absolutely good restaurant grade though. Surprisingly, those are also the ones that stock out often...The breads are as good as any we've been served out too.
Whereas Indian food used to be a once in awhile treat, we're getting close to once a week now. I've been picking up the dishes one at a time trying to master them. 1st was the relish, then the kachumber, with chana masala ext. I'll keep going until I hit vindaloo. However, the breads I'll keep buying. I can't make them as good or as cheap. Although we did not do it tonight, papri chaat is another we make and as good as any we've had while out.
