I love my Zenith boar brushes, but I made a mistake a few months ago and purchased a Zenith Manchurian badger. Big mistake - so big, I made the same mistake two more times. I believe Manchurian will replace my boars in the near future.
I converted my "too tall" into a duster for talcum powder during home haircuts. It works well for that; plenty of flop to distribute the powder....I too have the “too tall” plastic handled version but despite my love for the scrubby and stubby boars, I rather like these tall lofted boars quite well...
Agreed, but he does have the conversion chart on the site. It's a few posts back, @Asterix posted a pic...
The guy that runs the Gentle Shave website seems to have invented his own model numbers, which really confuses the issue. You can buy the Zenith 506U from yourshaving.com in Spain for 13 Euros plus shipping.

The B28 is beautiful. I would want to keep it bright and shiny. I have read a lot of reviews that put this above the Semogue SOC Boar but was scared off by some owners saying that there eventually ends up developing some green build-up at the base of the knot that can't really be cleaned away. What's your experience been like?View attachment 1139977
This is the taller of the two copper handled boars Zenith offers. Lovely boar.

Good choice. I went with the plastic handle model as it was cheaper. Having the larger Zenith B2, I can say it's worth the extra bucks for the aluminum handle. My first Zenith arrived today. It is a B-16

I just received 3 last week. The two still in my possession haven’t been used yet, and they are split slightly out of the box. Those Zenith bristles look like they will split just by shouting at them.

I think the bristles are boiled as part of the bleaching process, that encourages the splitting. Maybe someone who has tried one of the unbleached Zeniths can comment on the differences.Maybe they shout at them in Italy before putting them in the box.
I feel as though you have someone specific in mind.... hahaI think the bristles are boiled as part of the bleaching process, that encourages the splitting. Maybe someone who has tried one of the unbleached Zeniths can comment on the differences.

I'm not so sure. Your Shouting Italians theory sounds pretty plausible to me.That sounds much more sensible. And likely.
