What type of hairstyle is this?

What would be the measurements/guide to developing this kind of haircut? The look I feel was big in the 80s or perhaps 90s but is it just like a long on top with a part not in the MIDDLE but slightly to one other side? What the hell are the sides and back supposed to be like?

I used to do these cuts all the time. Basically a "bowl cut", but the top is layered, not left blunt.

Thanks! So should I ask the barber for a 'layered, bowl cut'? Also how long would the longest part need to be? I am worried my hair, while annoyingly long right now, is still not lengthy enough to get this particular cut done properly

Depending on your barbers age, yes. Or, you could pull up a picture. I always loved pics, they truly say a thousand words.

Thank you! Indeed, it seems I may have to just be 'that guy' and walk in with the photo and ask for a replica. My hair is not long enough on top though, maybe an inch too short, would it be worth it to just say do your best given the differing lengths?

Definitely. By the next time you get it cut it'll be perfect. It probably will be this time with a little bit of something to make it lay where you want.
