What's new

What to do with all that goo?

I like to keep well stocked on supplies so generally I grab one or 2 of whatever I use--whether I need it or not--on a trip to the store.

Going through my bathroom cabinet this morning--I discover not one but 4 cans of unused goo hiding amongst all the other supplies.

I don't have a receipt anymore--not that I'd waste my time trying to return it anyway---the cost is minimal but I also hate to throw away money.

Keep it for a rainy day--use it--give it away--throw it away?? What says the hive?

I also turned up 5 VDH pucks this morning--and I've only been using the puck and brush for 2 months now---I know---I'm hopeless:huh:

I've still got a can of King Of Shaves gel and a tube of it.

I never use but I'll keep it just in case I need it- it's not like it goes off is it? lol

Give it away would be my advice. Just not the VdH. That stuff is worth keeping around and it doesn't really have a shelf life as long as it's kept sealed in the original packaging and someplace dark & cool.

What says the hive...I love it!

I've still got some under my sink...going on 3 years old I think

You could always try selling it on the B/S/T

before you hit the shower, spread some on your mirror and clean it off.
It will keep the mirror fog free for a while.

Im new here so maybe the moderators wont revoke my username and password and send me on my way for this but I have some shaving glop left over that isnt exactly in keeping with the grand tradition of wetshaving but was sorta expensive (American Crew, and Labseries) and I kinda figured id just use it on days I was running late or on vacation or something. Although the Labseries has enough benzocaine in it to double as a topical anesthetic(sp).......

I'd give it away; I'm sure there is a local shelter/church that can find a person who is in need.

I agree, we have a local Christian shelter that does a great job of helping people and they get all my unused but usable items...along with Purple heart. You may also consider some of the Veterans groups in your area.

Happy shaving,

Doug

Somebody get a rope

Hey brother...anyone who blasts you for using something that works when you're on the go...doesn't deserve to be a part of B&B!

Now, that said...you'll likely find yourself gravitating towards those other products if you stay on here long enough...B&B just tends to send you that way when all you look at are pictures of great brushes, soaps, creams, razors, watches, pens etc etc

Exactly... you will be enjoying mixing lather with a new Rolex in no time.

I used to use canned goo to get into wakeboard boots. If you can't think of anything else, maybe buying one of those would be a good way to avoid wasting money by tossing the cans.

I guess you might need a boat too. And a trailer. But hey, it's all in the name of saving money!

The reason I keep a can around is:

There have been times when I've cleaned my brush, and realized after that point, that I missed a spot.

It seems to me, that for such a small payoff the investment of time required to reheat the brush and go through the entire process all over again.

For *me* it is so much easier to reach for a can of shaving foam, and use that in such circumstances.

Hope this helps.

Leftover shave gel? Pranks. Lots of pranks.

p.s. - I like the "give it to the local shelter" idea best, if I'm honest.

Once I made the complete break with traditional goo shaving, I tossed my can of goo forever. No mo Barbasol for me.
