Domestically there were two Swedish razor models that had large and lasting market shares:
  1. Heljestrand 4/8 and 5/8 full hollow. Sold as no.2 (4/8) and 3,4,7,8 all 5/8. It was also sold with a thumb notch as no.31 (uncommon).
  2. The other popular model was Heljestrand no.24 4/8, 1/4 hollow, made for more than 60 years and immensely popular. This morning I shaved with Hellberg's clone of it, labelled no.42. It's not a beginners razors but once your technique is good enough it's easy to understand the popularity of the Heljestrand no.24/Hellberg no.42.

Test day today: a couple I honed yesterday and which will probably be sold (I have too many razors!). Both Sheffields: top, John Clarke & Son, 6/8, bottom, Haddon 13/16. Great results!
